Sacred Heart Health Centre:
Over the years McLennan residents have chosen a progressive track for the community.
The Sacred Heart Community Health Centre is a 20-bed acute Medical facility,
which services the Smoky Region.

Emergency Service:
The Town of McLennan is fully serviced by the Province-wide 911 system for fire,
ambulance, police and other emergency services.

McLennan is home to a six-member RCMP detachment that serves the entire Smoky River Region.
In addition to crime and emergency response, the detachment provides community
policing and education, school based support and Victims Services.

Education:
A wide variety of education choices are available to residents of McLennan,
from pre-school through post-secondary.
Ecole Providence School in McLennan is a catholic school that offers
excellent education for students from K-9.
They have eighteen to one student-teacher ratios who are
caring, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers.
Ecole Providence offers to its student's second language courses in French and Cree.
Grade 10 - 12 is offered to students in McLennan at George P. Vanier School in Donnelly.

Holy Family CyberHigh School is a Roman Catholic school within the
Alberta Public Education system.
Our school is administered by the
Holy Family Catholic Regional Division #37 School Board.
We serve students from Grades 7 - 12, offering an online education,
provided by qualified teachers who are Online Education Specialists.
As a school, we are a community of learners who use the Internet to transmit knowledge,
seek explanation and discover meaning.
Students and teachers, from various points in Western Canada,
create a community by logging into a computer server that is located in
Edmonton, Alberta. Lessons are sent. Homework is returned. Questions are asked.
Guidance is sought.

It offers adult students choices from upgrading, trade courses, distance learning,
and many others.

Kimiwan Birdwalk and Interpretive Centre:
The Kimiwan Birdwalk and Interpretive Centre located within the town on the
south shore of Kimiwan Lake and adjacent to Highway 2, is a
provincially recognized natural habitat.
Over 200 species of birds make McLennan their nesting spot each year.

McLennan is home to the largest concentration of shorebirds and waterfowl in Northern Alberta.
This makes the Birdwalk a must see for birdwatchers and wildlife enthusiasts.
The Kimiwan Birdwalk and Interpretive Centre are open from May to September.
It has 300 meters of paths and woooden walkways that enable the visitors to enjoy birs and other
wildlife species in their natural habitat.

Smoky River Regional Golf Course:

The Smoky River Regional Golf Course is a challenging 9-hole golf course suitable
for both the advanced or beginner golfers.
This par 36 course has grass greens, rentals, a pro shop, driving range and a clubhouse.
The Smoky River Regional Golf Course is open 7 days a week from May to September.
The golf course is located on the south west end of town, also located across from the
golf course is McLennan's Municipal Kimiwan Campground which provides
showers, shelter, playground, power hookups and a fishing pond.

Smoky River Regional Economic Development:

Smoky River Regional Economic Development represents the communities of Girouxville, Falher, Donnelly,
McLennan and the Municipal District of Smoky River No. 130.
We are governed by a board comprising of 11 business people representing each of the communities.
Our goal is to expand and develop the economy of the Smoky River Region.
Investment attraction, business development and promotion of our area and communities is the mandate of the board
and it’s economic development officer.
We encourage residents of the area to come forward with business ideas and opportunities and we will do our best
